Hurts - it actually does not hurt...

So to another one to watch.. Hurts are a Manchester band who have slowly been creeping their way to super stardom.

New single 'Wonderful Life' is literally nothing short of wonderful! With a really great video and something that is captivating to listen to, I think when the album (Happiness) hits the shops on the 6th September 2010 we will be hearing a lot more of them too. Already getting the interest of pop starlet Kylie Minogue, who even provides a duet on track 'Devotion' from Hurts Album, amongst many other big names showing an interest in this cool new act. The Band consists of Theo Hutchcraft on vocals & Adam Anderson – electronics & guitar. I think we will be hearing much more from this duo and I can't wait to hear the full album upon its upcoming release.

The One - LADY GAGA

The multi million selling first album
Since late 2008 I have been following the epic storm that is LADY GAGA, the controversial music genius has had quite the effect on the world. With 4 Number 1 singles in the UK, two number one albums, it would seem the only way is up for Lady. I think the thing that is key to her success is her fans or "little monsters", who she adores and appreciates more than any other artist I know of. Everything Lady G does, is for her monsters, which subsequently proves it is a good idea to express the love at every opportunity.

For all the people who are coming to release new material in the future, I think you can learn a lot from Lady GaGa, she has her own identity as well as great music, lyrics and charisma. I feel that whilst she is compared to some musical greats, she is her own persona and will be a huge name for many years to come, and its hard to believe that she has achieved this greatness at the tender age of 24!
The Album Chart Show Feb'09

I have been fortunate enough to see her at just about every stage of her descent on the charts, I first saw her in February 2009 at an Album chart show, where she came on first and performed all her greats in front of a TV audience. The second time I saw her was on the 14th July 2009 at Brixton Academy - again an awesome show. The best was seeing her headline Monster Ball world tour at London's O2 Arena in February 2010. The story detail invested into the show is just amazing proving that she is a force to be reckoned with.

Bad Romance has so far become one of the most viewed youtube videos to date, furthermore follow-up video Telephone which featured superstar Beyonce Knowles has also become a huge web phenomenon. The fight to release Alejandro as the third single proved successful becoming Lady Gaga' 7th consecutive top ten hit in the UK.

I can only see bigger things for this rising queen of music, not only talented at writing music for other acts such as the Pussycat Dolls & Britney Spears, she also plays instruments and has a massive impact on her tour production even investing her own money into the project. I cannot wait for her to announce the name of her new album on New Years Eve 2010 via a tattoo on her body, which is just an amazing way to see out a great year for her, and open up the way for a new album and hopefully fantastic new video's and tours! Roll on 2011 for GAGA mania.

Natalia Kills - one to watch part 2

Natalia Kills is an English born, up and coming act, her new single Mirrors is described as the 'Just Dance 2010' which is quite a massive deal to be compared to one of my favourite artists of all time, the single was released digitally to I-tunes USA and I am patiently awaiting the UK release.

So has she got what it takes at this early stage? I think so!! Her self produced track 'Zombie' has tinges of Rihanna' 'Disturbia' and a video to match. Plus the digital release of robotic/futuristic sound of 'Activate My Heart' shows that she is not just a one trick pony.

Kills is sexy, talented and has sparked the interest of many big names such as Akon and Will.I.Am. I for one am very excited to review the album 'The Perfectionist' when it is released here soon.

Furthermore, Natalia produces her own online series 'Love Kills XX' which ties in with the theme of her music.

Be ready for Natalia Kills, as you will be hearing her name again and again over the next god knows how many years, and I can't wait to see what she has to offer, I am as excited about Kills as I was about GaGa in 2008 which can only mean one thing 'success story' - defo one to watch.

Dragonette 'one to watch'

What a great way to start my blog off, I hope to bring you all the latest and greatest new music stories, reviews and something different to what is already out there.. one of my 'ones to watch are an exciting act I have been following for over a year now, Dragonette have been seemingly drifting through the years without the sort of attention they deserve, I was lucky to see them on one of their rare performances at 93 Feet East in London this weekend, they were actually amazing. Full of energy singing songs that are not only catchy but high charting worthy musical masterpieces. They performed greats such as 'I Get Around' 'Fixin to Thrill' 'Liar' 'Gone too Far' 'Pick Up The Phone' 'Take It Like A Man' and my favourite and summer anthem 'Our Summer' which is from their newest Album 'Mixin To Thrill' a remix of some of their songs and a few new ones available now on I-Tunes.

I really hope that this band constisting of Martina Sobara, Dan Kurtz and Joel Stouffer make it into the big time, especially here in the UK as everyone seems to like them on first listen.

Having now seen them live, they are the sort of band I can see performing at major festivals and events in the future.
